2024 Hospice Regatta October 11-13
The 2024 Hospice Regatta Registration is up and running. We look forward to another great event and plan to meet/exceed our goal this year of $130,000. Our support is earmarked for patients at Hospice of the Upstate who can't afford end of life care. During the life of the regatta, we have raised over $1.3 million dollars! YOU ARE making a difference.
Everything you need is on the event web site here (site will be live August 1st). You can register your boat, buy meal tickets, setup your Sailing for Others team, buy raffle tickets, clothing, BBQ….all on the web site.
Our goal for this year is $130,000 and you can help in a number of ways. Of course, we will continue the Sailing For Others campaign that continues to be a big part of our fund raising (over $50K contributed last year). We have other ways you can help…
Sailing for Others
You don’t have to be a skipper to be in the SFO challenge. Anyone can participate, so start lining up family, friends and coworkers to help you in this special challenge. Remember that it can all be done online. Keep in mind that you can win a free year of dues to WCSC if you qualify for the drawing by raising at least $500.
Race
Sign up and race on one of four courses (Distance, Keelboat, Centerboard and Charity Sail). All fees contribute to our fundraising efforts
Charity Sail
Don’t want to race but you want to sail? Want to invite your friends and family to come out on the lake for a great weekend? We have something for you.
This was a new event in 2022 and was a big success. You will sail to locations on the lake, get a 'virtual' card and later that night, the best hand will win valuable prizes. We hope this helps draw out some sailors who want to help support the event but don’t want to race.
Attend
Come to the event and join us for the Saturday night dinner and Raffle. Bring your friends. This is always a very popular part of the regatta.
Raffle items
You can help a couple different ways with the raffle. We always have support from our members and attendees who donate some awesome items. If you are not sure what would make a great Raffle item, check with Anna Kay Lord who will help with ideas and suggestions.
Buy Raffle tickets
Another way to help is to buy a bunch of raffle tickets. Many of you do and we love the fact that we typically sell $10,000+ worth of $1 tickets during the Regatta. All of which goes directly to the Hospice of the Upstate
Golf Car raffle
We will again be raffling off a Golf car this year. This golf car is a xxxx that is in great shape and comes with a charger and a 1 year warranty. It is a beautiful Golf car and chances are $50 each. You can purchase your chances on the event web site or buy them at the Regatta.
If you don't know much about the Hospice of the Upstate, you can check it out online at www.hospiceoftheupstate.com. They have a fabulous facility with 32 patient rooms dedicated towards quality end of life care. This is a charity that Ronnie and I feel especially attached to as we both have had Hospice experience in the past. As we approach the 2024 event, keep in mind that your donations directly help someone get quality end of life care that can’t afford it. Everything you donate and raise has a purpose supporting members of our community that need Hospice care. It’s a great cause.

Volunteers
