WOW Sail Class on Sunfish

P-5-581

Why Sunfish? Isn’t that a kids’ boat?

Sunfish are easy for one person to rig and they only have one sail so you can become independent quickly. And the club has a bunch of them so it’s easy to go sailing on your own or gather with friends.

And if you are nervous about capsizing and righting the boat again, we’ve got you covered. It's not that hard. You just need the right conditions for learning.

So join instructors Sandi and Allison for a day of skill building and confidence building in a supportive, encouraging environment. Take the time you need to absorb the material and ask all the questions you want. Sailing is supposed to be fun!

We like using Sunfish because we find that basic sailing is best learned on small boats, where you can see cause and effect more easily. Once you feel comfortable sailing a smaller boat you can apply those same skills to larger boats
