Hi guys and gals,

Well, it's time for the weekly Cruising Fleet update, so here goes!

This week brings us to the Pirate's Day cruise...so what does that mean?

Well, we hope it's going to be a whole lot of fun out on the water!

It's going to be warm, temps expected in the low 90's with winds out of S/SE at 3-6.

20% chance of precipitation at the moment....yea, whatever, wait five minutes and it'll all change, right?  It's lake Hartwell!

We're hoping that enough of the fleet will show in in pirate's garb for a group photo at the captain's meeting, if not, maybe afterwards, but I'm thinking the attire will look better dry...lol

Yes, we hope that I will not be the only one showing up in Pirate's attire!

That gets us to the second point - Saturday is going to be wet....

I've heard of skippers with multitudes of water balloons on hand, as well as 2 vessels that will most likely be armed with water cannons....

So, in case I forget to mention it at the skipper's meeting, you may want to keep your hatch boards in and your cel phones under cover!

Though I do admit, I hope someone can get some pictures with waterproof devices....lol

Vessels participating in this fun day on the water should be flying the Jolly Roger, but for any who don't have one, we'll need to establish another form of Identification...I'm suggesting a Bandana flown from one of the shrouds, a backstay, on a flagpole....be creative.

And don't be waterbombing neutral vessels, that just wouldn't be keeping with the 'code', do ya get me matey?

There will be one area declared as a safe haven, that will be inside the harbour.

Skipper's meeting will be standard at the Swamp near the head of A Dock, departure will be at your leisure, but this week remember, as with most great naval battles, it is a chase....There will be no set course, it's hunt and conquer!  lol

Whether you elect to be first out to make your preparations, or stay back to try to stay out of it, we will be hunting each other!

We will, presumably be doing a 'social' after, with dogs and sides, donations to that fund will be taken at the skipper's meeting.  it will be a bring your own beverages function...

I would be so awesome if you could RSVP that you will be there, that way we can get the fixings for the social on Friday nite or Saturday morning instead of having to make a mad dash to the store after the sail is over.

Repeat, RSVP would be GREAT!
