Sailing Cruise June 1, 2, 3
We members of WCSC are lucky to have the beautiful Lake Hartwell to sail upon. Lake Hartwell has many miles of open water, many safe and secluded coves for anchorages, and marvelous scenery. On this SailingCruise we will explore and share our favorite spots on the lake. It will also give us an opportunity to live on our boats for a weekend.
The cruisers will leave the Club on Friday evening and sail to a safe anchorage. On Saturday we can go up the Tugaloo to the route 85 bridge and then head towards the big water end of the lake exploring the various coves and inlets. We can spend Saturday evening on the hook somewhere near the dam. Sunday we can explore the Eastern shore on the way back to the club.
If you can’t make all three days join us somewhere along the cruise. Let’s plan this trip together. If you can sail along for any or all of this cruise contact me. We can then share our knowledge of the lake and plan what activities we would like to do.
By the end of the cruise we should all feel comfortable to go anywhere in the lake, know the locations of many safe anchorages, and know the shallow areas to avoid.
You will need to bring enough food, fuel, water, and beveragesto last as long as you can be with us. The navigation lights on your boat need to work and a vhf radio will be a plus.
