As a Reminder, you must complete 10 hours of annual fairshare service prior to December 31, 2016, 5 hours of which were to be complete prior to June 30, 2016.

We only have one more regularly scheduled workday prior to the end of the year.  It is on this Saturday, October 1st.  Plan to come on out and help us spruce up the club just before our annual Hospice Regatta for the benefit of Hospice of the Upstate.

I hope you can make this date, but if you can't, there will still be other opportunities to get your hours in by helping with the ongoing underbrushing project or numerous other tasks around the club.  Below is a preliminary task list for this weekend.  Be sure and bring gloves and dress appropriately for the task available.

Fairshare / Volunteer Opportunities available this weekend
  1. Bring and/or Use club weed eaters at various locations to be determined around club.
    • Weed eat or cut with lawnmower around the boats in the main parking lot.
    • Weed eat the bank between E dock and main launch ramp.
    • Use Loppers and/or weed eaters to cut trees, bushes, and vines sprouting after the underbrushing anywhere you see them.
  2. Haul and spread mulch from mulch the pile to various beds around the clubhouse.
  3. Pick up previously cut brush/debris and haul to burn pile on Arrowhead Point.
    • Remove broken tree branches on front lawn of the club.
    • Remove brush & root piles near B dock.
    • Remove broken picnic table, lumber debris on west side of garage, and other wood debris in that general location.
  4. Haul firewood cut by the tree removal crew to the clubhouse storage area using the tractor and trailer.
  5. Remove cut up metal braces between A & B Dock.  Toward the end of the workday, after finishing hauling firewood, load on WCSC trailer to take to metal scrap yard the following week.
    • Load metal next to steep launch ramp
    • Load metal next to hoist
    • Load metal that can be picked up in the boneyard, but do not overload the trailer
  6. Walk the shore cutting any small tree < 3” in diameter and also take a trash bag and pick up trash as you go.
